Terms of Service

Last updated: April 18, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Screen Glide, including the macOS application, related downloads, updates, and any related websites or support services we provide (together, the "Service").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Screen Glide, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Screen Glide is a native macOS application designed for high-quality screen recording, window capture, video editing, and content export. Features include automated zoom-and-follow, cursor styling, camera overlays, and native performance optimized for Apple Silicon and Intel-based Macs.

2. Eligibility

You may use the Service only if you can legally enter into a binding agreement and your use complies with applicable law. If you are using Screen Glide on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. License and Usage Rights

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use Screen Glide for your personal or internal business use.

A. Ownership

This license does not transfer ownership of the software to you. All intellectual property rights in the Service remain the property of Screen Glide.

B. Restrictions

Except where the law clearly allows it, you may not:

  • Copy, resell, rent, lease, or sublicense the Service;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code;
  • Remove copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices;
  • Use the Service to build a competing product;
  • Interfere with the Service, update system, or license enforcement mechanisms.

4. Licenses, Activation, and Device Limits

Screen Glide offers a "Lifetime License" model.

A. Lifetime License

A one-time payment grants you access to the current version of Screen Glide and all subsequent minor and major updates for as long as we support the software.

B. Device Limits

Unless otherwise specified during purchase, a single license is intended for use by one individual on up to 2 Mac devices owned by that individual.

C. Validation and Offline Use

Activation and periodic validation require an internet connection. Screen Glide supports an offline grace period of up to 7 days from the last successful license validation. After this period, an internet connection may be required to re-validate the license and maintain access to premium features.

5. Payments and Refunds

A. Payments

Payments are processed via our third-party provider, Polar.sh. By completing a purchase, you agree to their terms and conditions.

B. Refund Policy

We have a 14 day money back guarantee. We encourage users to download and try the app for free before purchasing. If you have technical issues that prevent the app from functioning, please contact support@screen-glide.com .

6. Permissions and Local Processing

A. System Permissions

To function properly, Screen Glide requires permissions for Screen Recording, Accessibility (to detect window geometry), Microphone, and Camera. You control these via macOS System Settings.

B. Local-First Processing

Screen Glide is designed to process and store all recordings, projects, and exports locally on your device. We do not upload your video content to our servers.

7. Your Content and Responsibility

You retain full ownership of any recordings, video files, or projects you create using Screen Glide ("Your Content").

A. Legal Use

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of Screen Glide complies with all applicable privacy, recording, and intellectual property laws.

B. Prohibited Content

You may not use Screen Glide to create or distribute content that:

  • Violates any law or regulation;
  • Infringes on third-party intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • Is used for malicious purposes, harassment, or covert surveillance.

8. Recording Laws and Consent

Recording screens, meetings, or other people may be restricted by law or policy. You agree to obtain all necessary notices and consents before using the Service to record others. We are not responsible for your failure to comply with these requirements.

9. Updates and Support

A. Updates

We may provide updates, bug fixes, or new features. These may be delivered automatically or through manual notification. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features to improve the Service.

Technical support is provided via email at support@screen-glide.com. We aim to respond to all inquiries within 2 business days.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service interacts with third-party providers for payment (Polar.sh), website hosting (Vercel), and update delivery. These services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PERFORMANCE MAY VARY BASED ON HARDWARE AND OPERATING SYSTEM VERSION.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCREEN GLIDE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE SERVICE.
